Legally blind since childhood, I’ve been given the gift of hands with a heightened sensitivity. They can "see" exactly where stress is trapped in muscle tissue.
My interest in massage therapy was sparked during my undergraduate years at Kenyon College. While studying dance, I was introduced to massage and bodywork techniques to relax tired and overworked muscles. These few simple techniques ignited a desire to learn more about the professional world of therapeutic massage.
After graduating from Kenyon, I studied at the Finger Lakes School of Massage in Ithaca, New York. At this nationally renowned massage school, I learned a wide range of massage therapy techniques including: Swedish, neuromuscular therapy, connective tissue therapy, and energy palpitations. I’ve blended all of these techniques to develop my own unique massage style and to create individualized sessions for my clients.
After graduating from Finger Lakes, I moved to Boston in 1998 to start my career as a professional massage therapist at Healthworks Fitness Center for Women before opening my own private practice in Brookline. Over the years, I have continued to build upon this knowledge of massage therapy and the various techniques available. In 2005, I earned my certification in prenatal massage.
I am a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and am licensed in Massachusetts.
